Why Svaroopa?
Using fully supported poses (asanas), Svaroopa ® Yoga allows students of all levels of fitness and body types to experience the full benefits of yoga. Svaroopa® Yoga is based on traditional hatha yoga poses practiced in a unique way. This style is ‘slow yoga’ consisting of a series of timed poses supported using props that every body can do. Each 90 minute class starts and ends with a guided relaxation meditation. Each class includes an easy breathing practice which quiets the mind, builds the immune system and brings new oxygen into the body. Sixty minutes of the class is a sequence of supported poses that are reliable for opening the spine and releasing the tension in your muscles from head to toe.

Svaroopa® Yoga provides a release of deep core tension in the body, gently increases flexibility and soothes the nervous system, bringing us back into harmony and balance. Teachers are trained to focus on precise alignment of the muscular-skeletal structure for release of tension in the muscles to create stability of the spine and bones that the muscles are attached to. The poses are aligned and precisely timed specifically to reach through the periphery of the body; reaching through the muscles into the spine to release stress and tightness that pulls the bones out of alignment. 

A regular practice of  Svaroopa ® Yoga can complement and enhance both routine exercise programs and other wellness practices in the prevention and/or treatment of general aches/pains and injury. Using props, poses are supported to allow for the muscles to fully open and release and the bones to align into their natural support structure. The ease and bliss experienced through this yoga encourages a continuing practice that brings immediate changes in the body and mind. Increased awareness and opening of the body lead to a deep state of healing tranquility.
